Youth folk arts workshops for everyone aged 13-18
- Created at tutors weekend 2011
2011′s youth programme is a team effort between Shooting Roots and Stream of Sound. Our workshops at Sidmouth are a fab place to meet people and make new friends, all the while trying out cool folkie stuff. Whether you’re exploring folk for the first time or an old hand who’s hoping to scale the peaks, each workshop will have something in it for you. The tutors are an assortment of talented, interesting, and enthusiastic young people – you’ll spot many of them performing elsewhere around the festival. All our participants have the opportunity to take part in our Thursday showcase, a sure-fire spectacular!
You can find us in our three venues: the Rugby club on Heydon’s lane, the Manor House Pavilion theatre bar on Station road and the Arts Centre just beneath the Manor House Pavilion.
This year Shooting Roots is joined by Stream of Sound, a fantastic vocal troupe ready to immerse you in glorious songs. We’ll be working alongside each other in the festival.
So bring your friends, your ideas or simply yourself! This is your chance to create your kind of folkie magic at Sidmouth. We look forward to seeing you!
